A video that covers 9 chapters dealing with the Digital Nation;
MIT students and technology- Their test scores are down.
Effects of multi-tasking on the brain- studies are not conclusive.
Korean issues with technology-Youth battles addiction to games, school try to teach ethics.
Teaching with technology- Schools are giving out laptops
The dumbest generation- younger kids reading skills are improving but deteriorate later, writing skills are suffering. Constant interruptions are effecting writing. Short term thinking. Idea after idea.
Relationships- an older woman supports keeping up with the internet, she understands the fluidity of her grandchildrens ability to play online. She has an online video show, it simulates a connection with grandmother, people reach out to her. The internet is revered to some as a real place. A virtual universe.
Virtual Worlds- Offer people the chance to do something new. Second Life is everything we have imagined. Avatars can do anything real people can do. The creator of second life questions the connection between humans in real life, he sas the world he created is a model of intimate, tender, online culture.
Can Virtual experience change us? Video games are made to help treat patients with ADHD and PTSD. The lab was developed at stanford. Real and virtual lines are blurred.
Where are we heading? Army made a recrution experience station. recruiters are encouraged to chat with prospective underaged candidates. They modeled it on Apple and advertise with video games. Can you engage the kid to teach them? It is too early to know the answer.

With a leveling out of user experience with computers amoung schools, how will this effect the rise or fall of social and economic class?
